There are so many great reasons to source your products locally. You can save on shipping, communicate in your own language, and best of all, be able to market your product as being Made In Australia.
And, as we’ll discover, finding amazing Australian manufacturers needn’t be difficult.
Australia is home to heaps of unique products and fantastic manufacturers, so it’s no wonder that people are willing to pay top dollar for goods made here.
Being the shrewd business people we are, this a golden opportunity for us to source awesome products here and sell them worldwide.
Here are 6 quick and easy ways to find great Australian manufacturers
- Use Austrade
This is a wonderful website for finding manufacturers. Simply hover over the For International tab, then Find Australian Suppliers.
Simply enter your keywords and you’ll be presented with a list of appropriate manufacturers here in Oz.
Told you it was easy!
2. Use AustralianMade.com.au
Another brilliant site for finding Australian artisans and manufacturers.
It’s super easy to use, enter what you’re looking for and boom, you’ll get heaps of great suppliers.
And the best part is that you’ll get to use this Australia Made logo in your marketing!
3. Use the Yellow Pages
Yes, you heard me right! I know we’re all savvy online entrepreneurs but sometimes the old ones are the best.
I’m not sure if they still print the Yellow Pages, but the online directory is alive and well – and an easy way for you to find local manufacturers.
Speaking of search engines, give Google.com.au a go too. Just search for ‘Australian manufacturers + your search term’.
Easy as Sunday morning!
4. Use Instagram
A not-so-obvious one this. But, Instagram is full of cool manufacturers who are dying to reach out to people like you who’ll sell their products.
Search #Australianmade, #madeinAustralia or other varieties to find millions of homegrown products.
5. Use Etsy
One of my all-time favourites. Etsy.com/au is an amazing way to find unique products and connect with local, independent manufacturers.
6. Use Alibaba
Alibaba isn’t just for Chinese manufacturers – the website has a whole section dedicated to products made in Australia. Check it out now, here’s the link: https://australia.alibaba.com/index.html.
Although this isn’t an exhaustive list, you’re sure to find some great Australian manufacturers with the simple methods above. If you have another method, I’d love to hear about it!
From a proud Australian, good luck everyone!!
